Don’t be alarmed to see an ambulance at Lanier High School every day. The retired vehicle donated Wednesday by American Medical Response is serving as a stationary simulation lab, allowing students in Lanier’s Health Services Academy to learn skills that can translate into careers in emergency medical response and transport.

Children with life-threatening illnesses and injuries at UMMC now have more pediatric critical care physicians and nurse practitioners caring for them. The Pediatric Intensive Care unit at Batson Children’s Hospital now has the highest number of critical care specialists in its history.

Tomorrow, a new signal-controlled light - called a HAWK beacon - will help alleviate risky crossings by alerting motorists that pedestrians are crossing from Lower East Stadium Drive.
